Midland is a company town in a specific sense. An unusual share of residents get their healthcare through one employer's plan, and an unusual share of the work here sits under a federal contract, a federal grant or a clearance. Both facts land on this decision. The plan covers nearly everything, so a self-pay medical service strikes people here as odd. Who actually issues the card
We don't. The Michigan Cannabis Regulatory Agency (CRA) does. Michigan's medical marijuana program is administered by the Cannabis Regulatory Agency, which took over the functions previously handled under LARA. The state — not this clinic — issues the registry card and sets its own processing times. If the physician certifies you, we file the certification on your behalf — but we can't promise a date, and nobody who tells you otherwise can either.

My work is under a federal contract. Does a Michigan card cover me?
No. Federal contractor drug-free workplace obligations sit with your employer and are unaffected by your state registry status, as are clearance adjudication guidelines and any federally regulated testing such as DOT. Take that question to HR or an employment lawyer, not to a clinician.
Our plan covers almost everything. Why is this self-pay?
Cannabis certification evaluations are generally not a covered benefit under commercial plans. One practical side effect: because no claim is submitted, nothing about the visit reaches the plan, so no explanation of benefits statement goes to whoever holds the policy.
